Sustainable Living Festival

Sunday 12 November 2017

10am – 3pm

Pioneer Park, Gawler

On Sunday 12 November 2017 the Gawler Regional Natural Resource Centre will be hosting the 5th annual Sustainable Living Festival, an event that celebrates sustainability and aims to teach, encourage and inspire our local community to embrace and learn about living a more sustainable lifestyle in a fun way.

The Festival will feature exciting guest speakers, including Kim Syrus from Channel Nine’s ‘in the garden with Kim Syrus’; Chris Daniels, Professor of Biology at UniSA; John Baxter, tiny house builder; Jason Gow, renewable energy for homes and businesses; and Abby Buckley, eco-friendly ways to decompose your dead, as well as a range of workshops, including composting, plant propagation and yoga, kids activities, nature crafts and live entertainment. Food vendors will be bringing us delicious plant based and meat meals as well as coffee and cold beverages.

Our wonderful Un-JuNk upcycle/recycle art competition is running again this year.  We are encouraging people of all ages to enter the UnJuNk 2017 competition and create something out of waste (entries judged and awarded on the day).

We invite environmentally conscious and community orientated local businesses and organisations to get involved in the festival so together we can give the people of Gawler and surrounding areas the information, tools, skills and resources to move towards a more sustainable way of life. If you are interested in becoming a stallholder contact us on 8523 7715 or nrc.gawler@gmail.com.
