The aim of the Plastic Free July challenge is simple: Avoid the use of single use plastics during July and remember it’s not a competition but a challenge.
Plastic Free July focuses on alternatives to plastics in the home, shopping, travelling and other situations. They offer a large assortment of products available.
By pledging to Plastic Free July, they will email you tips and recipes throughout the month. There are three streams you can focus on, reducing plastics in your recycling bin, target takeaway items or going completely plastic free for a day, week, month or more.
If you want to spread the message of Plastic Free July, there are events you can hold such as running a plastic free morning tea, which the GEC is holding on 10AM Sunday July 8 at the Gawler Environment Centre (more details on our FaceBook event)
Feel free to share your progress on social media tagging @PlasticFreeJuly and use the #PlasticFreeJuly and #ChooseToRefuse hashtags.
