Interested in volunteering? We would love to hear from you! There are plenty of ways you can be involved in the GEC even if you have no particular interest in the environment. Time commitments for positions are variable depending on what suits you – we are more than happy to work around your availability.

Sustainable Living Festival 2018 – Sunday 11 November
The Sustainable Living Festival has found its self a home on the second Sunday of November. This year’s Festival will be held on Sunday 11 November. We would love some help with organising this event! If you think you might be interested in giving us a hand if organising workshops, speakers, displays, entertainment, kids activities etc please get in touch.

Web and Newsletter Officer
Commitment: at least 1 day/month

We need someone who will be responsible for keeping the GEC website up-to-date and distributing our bi-monthly newsletter through Mailchimp. You will work closely with the GEC coordinator to help keep the community up to date on coming events, workshops and other GEC news. You will also be responsible for adding events to the GEC calendar. If like, you can also help add some handy resources to the website for people (including kids).  Time commitment is flexible and you have the option of working at the centre or either at home providing you have good internet connection (and a good internet plan as well)

Events/workshops organiser
Commitment: at least 1 day/month

A great way to learn more about topics that interest you is to organise someone to speak on them! The Gawler Environment Centre organises a wide range of community workshops each year. Help is needed sourcing and booking presenters, advertising and promoting events and making sure things run smoothly on the night/day. May include after hours or weekend work. If you like expanding your knowledge and meeting new people this may be for you! Good communication and organisation skills needed.
